His book "The Interpretation of Dreams" inspired generations of scientists to examine the connection between the nebulous, hard-to-define mind and the grey, wrinkled organ that sits between our heads. He would have wondered, at the very least whether 'insomniacs' are indeed concious or were in fact in a 'dreamscape' of their own! Freud would have loved this kind of question.
